What is LetsFixIndia?
A sourced public-record timeline of major governance, rights, press-freedom, and institutional events in India, concentrated on the BJP/Modi administrations from 2014 to 2026. Vajpayee-era terms, UPA-I, UPA-II, and each state/UT government term spanning 2014 are included as context. Every entry carries a named source and a visible evidence status. Improvements are recorded where the data supports them.
Is this an anti-BJP site?
It is a critical record. Criticism follows evidence rules: opposition claims are labelled as claims, allegations are not written as convictions, and indicators that improved under this government — GDP per capita, inflation, internet access, PLFS unemployment — are shown on the Stats page alongside the ones that worsened.

Why is detailed coverage concentrated from 2014?
Because 26 May 2014 marks the start of the Modi-led Union government and the project's primary research scope. The immediately preceding UPA-II term and the state/UT government term spanning the 2014 boundary are included for context; that does not imply exhaustive event coverage before 2014.
Why are some entries sourced to Wikipedia?
Wikipedia is used only as a lead list, never as final proof. Entries that still rest on a Wikipedia citation are being upgraded to primary or newswire sources, and weak leads are held in a research backlog rather than promoted to the timeline.
An entry about me or my organisation is wrong. How do I get it corrected?
Use the Submit page and mark the record as a correction, with source links. Corrections backed by stronger evidence replace the current entry.
How is the "BJP at centre" number calculated?
It sums three periods of BJP-led central government: Vajpayee's 16-day term in 1996, the Vajpayee governments from 19 March 1998 to 22 May 2004, and the Modi period from 26 May 2014 to today. It recalculates live on every visit.
Who is behind this, and can I contribute?
The project is maintained independently — see the About page. The most useful contribution is specific: a missing event, a stronger source, a court-status update, a translation, or a correction to wording that claims more than the evidence supports. "Everyone knows" is not a citation.
Does the site track me?
No cookies, no accounts, no ad trackers. Page views are counted with a cookieless analytics tool. Submission drafts and timeline reading position stay in your browser only.
Who funds this?
There is no party, NGO, or outside funder. Basith (@basithladdu) maintains the site; voluntary support covers hosting and maintenance. Donations pay for infrastructure only. They do not affect entry wording or evidence status.
How can I help without money?

Can I inspect the raw data or host a mirror?
Yes. The dataset and codebase are open source in the public repository, so contributors can inspect the records, verify the code, run it locally, or host a mirror. The website itself does not show raw-data download buttons.
